Our Lake Burton property has brought endless pleasure and enjoyment to our family over the past 30 years.  It provided a perfect place for our children to grow up and our friends to be entertained with limitless outdoor fun in a safe and tranquil environment.

 

After visiting Lake Burton for several years we decided to purchase property.  We determined that there were two important requirements our property needed to have.  First, we wanted easy access to our property.  After driving several hours from Atlanta to reach the lake, we didn't want to spend a lot more time on back roads in order to reach our lake house.  Our property is only a minute drive down Deer Hill Rd. from Hwy 76.  The other item we wanted was a deep water location on the main body of the lake.  Knowing that water sports would be our primary activity; we looked for a lot where we could safely water ski, knee board and pull a variety of floating devices directly from our docks and not disturb any neighbors.Our boat and swim docks are directly on the main channel of the Tallulah River. We have enjoyed being on the open water in a large basin on the main lake and not back in one of the coves with a high density of neighbors. We are fortunate that the majority of the boat traffic at our location travels on the oppposite side of the lake.

 

The Location of our property has proven to be an even greater asset than simply the effortless access. Conveniently, we are only a ten minute drive to downtown Clayton.  A trip into Clayton to reach all the in town services and activities is quick and easy.  We consider this factor a very big advantage over many of the other lake properties.

 

Deer Hill Road is directly across the highway from the entrance to the Waterfall Country Club.  This development is the only private club in the area with golf, tennis, gym, spa, and both casual and fine dining.  Many of the Lake Burton residents are members of this exclusive facility.

 

We have found it important that our neighbors, who are a wonderful group of people, are long term residents that love our location and will be there for many years to come. Two of our closest neighbors owned their properties prior to our purchase in 1985.

 

Our property covers over an acre of land and includes 250 feet of water frontage.  We installed a substantial concrete bulkhead along the entire length of the waterfront.  The lot faces East so we get the morning sun.  In the afternoon when the sun is beating down on the docks and homes across the lake, we are in shade and remain cool. A new home could easily be built on the lot located closer to the water if so desired.

 

We love our property and hope a new owner will feel as much pleasure in ownership as we have.  Our dwelling is a cabin of timeless appeal which can ealsitly be added on to.  This extraordinary property offers incredible potential, enduring value and lasting enjoyment for a fortunate new owner.
